It is our pleasure to invite you to the next Executive Committee (EC) of the International Federation of Liberal Youth to be held in Timişoara, Romania, from the 23rd to the 24th of July 2011. IFLRY will also be running a six day seminar prior to the EC in the same city. The EC as well as the preceding seminar are hosted by the IFLRY Full Members TNL – Liberal Youth of Romania and CSL – Liberal Student Clubs. The European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) is a partner in the organization of the seminar.
The Executive Committee will be an important meeting for the Bureau and the Member Organizations to reflect on current events throughout the world. In 1989, street protests in Timişoara were the beginning of the Romanian Revolution that led to the fall of a communist dictator. It is appropriate to meet here in a year where many young people around the world also claiming their rights and striving for liberty. Through the Executive Committee, we will also lay the groundwork for the plan of action 2012-2013 and consider the political and organizational challenges that the Federation will have to face.
The seminar ‘Migration: Enriching Societies’ shall deal with the different aspects of migration; social, economical, political and cultural. The main aim is to engage young people in discussions on migration-related issues from various different perspectives, in order to develop better and innovative tools to influence on the social and political discourse in the countries of our participants. As always, the seminar will be led by a professional team and conducted via non-formal education methods. The seminar is sponsored by the Council of Europe.
