IFLRY General Assembly, Abidjan, May 9th-12th, 2024

IFLRY will hold its 53rd General Assembly in Abidjan from the 9th until the 12th of May 2024. The General Assembly will gather member organizations from all over the world. The General Assembly is the highest decision-making body of IFLRY and will, among other things, deal with:
- Resolutions
- Membership Applications
- Finances
- Secretary General and VP Elections
- Freedom Award
The event will be co-hosted and supported by Le Rassemblement des houphouëtistes pour la démocratie et la paix (RHDP) Centre d’Etudes Prospectives (CEP) and The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF)

Each MO is guaranteed as many spots as they have votes in the General Assembly. Should an MO wish to send more delegates, please let us know via office@iflry.org as soon as possible so that we are aware and can jointly find a solution. In this case, we will confirm the delegates by the regular deadline. Please do not book any travel until your participation has been confirmed.
Participation fee and accommodation
The participation fee will be announced shortly. This will cover accommodation in a shared room for the nights of 9th until the 12th of May (three nights), and meals according to the schedule, which will be published at a later stage.
If you live in Abidjan or, for other reasons, do not need accommodation, a reduced participation fee will be available.
OBS: You have to secure your accommodation and food if you are planning to stay for extra days in Abidjan.
There will also be an option to participate in the GA online.
Visas
Unfortunately, IFLRY is not able to cover any visa costs. Remember to check if you need a visa to enter Ivory Coast. You can find visa information here. Please contact the IFLRY Office (office@iflry.org) if you need a support letter.
Vaccines
Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines before your trip. The Yellow Fever vaccine is required for arriving travelers from all countries if traveler is ≥9 months of age.
Travel reimbursement
There will be no travel reimbursement available for the IFLRY General Assembly. However, the IFLRY Office is able to provide you with a cover/support letter should you wish to privately fund-raise your travel.
The 53rd General Assembly will also include elections for the following positions on the Bureau:
- Secretary General
- Four (4) Vice Presidents (one year term)
In order to be a candidate you have to submit a written nomination from a full member organization to office@iflry.org. You may also submit a letter of motivation and a CV. If you have questions about the positions, please get in touch with the current Bureau or auditors.
The deadline for Bureau nominations is Friday, April 12th

If your organization is not yet a member organization of IFLRY, but you want to attend, please send an e-mail to the IFLRY secretariat (office@iflry.org) with a description of your organization before filling out this form. You can find the membership criteria here.
