It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the seminar Building a Youth Empowerment Network for Africa., which will be held in Nairobi on 11-14 May 2023.

Everywhere in Africa, young people are standing up to fight for their rights and to solve the problems that face them and their societies. This is a difficult struggle, but it can be made easier if we work together. IFLRY and ALYF are networks of young people that fight for democracy, human rights and youth empowerment in Africa and the world. We believe that we work best when we unite young people everywhere. That is why we are coming to Nairobi.

We are organizing a  4-day seminar to strengthen our network, and to help you to strengthen yours.  We will discuss the challenges that are faced by young people in East Africa in particular, and in the continent as a whole. We will work on developing skills for networking, (political) organizing and activism, and we will also introduce you to the ALYF and IFLRY networks (the presidents of both organizations will be present) and explain to you how you and your organization can become a part of them. If you are interested in joining our seminar, please see below for more details and to find out how you can apply.

We look forward to meeting you.

  1. FNF — Friedrich Naumann Foundation

Based on the principles of liberalism, the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom offers political education in Germany and abroad. With our events and publications, the foundation helps people to become actively involved in political affairs. They support talented young students with scholarships. Since 2007, the addition “for freedom” has become an established part of the foundation’s name. After all, freedom isn’t exactly in trend these days. This makes it all the more important to campaign for freedom and to take on the responsibility that goes hand in hand with it. They have been doing this since our foundation on May 19th, 1958. FNF headquarter is based in Potsdam, and they maintain offices throughout Germany and in over 60 countries around the world. While the foundation’s activities in the field of civic education consist of seminars, conferences and publications aimed at promoting liberal values and principles, the international political dialogue program provides a discussion forum for a wide range of liberal issues. The foundation’s counseling programs focus on candidates for political office, liberal political parties and other democratic organizations.

  1. CIS — Centre Party International Foundation

The Centre Party International Foundation (in Swedish: Centerpartiets Internationella Stiftelse, CIS for short), is the international foundation of the Swedish Centre Party. CIS’s activities aim to promote democracy, human rights and equality through capacity-building efforts aimed at political actors and civil society. Priority target groups are women and young people. A large part of the activity therefore aims to increase their opportunity for political participation and influence. CIS also works with sister liberal parties to strengthen them as organizations and promote their internal democracy and capacity to work for democratic and progressive development.
