The Asia Program of the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY), in collaboration with liberal youth from both Pakistan and India, expresses its deep concern over the recent escalation of tensions between the two nations, following a tragic terrorist attack in India that claimed innocent lives. We unequivocally condemn this act of terrorism and extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families.We welcome the announcement of a full and immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan, brokered through extensive talks. This agreement marks a significant step toward de-escalation and demonstrates the potential for diplomacy to overcome even the most challenging crises. We commend the leadership of both countries for their commitment to dialogue and restraint.While the ceasefire is a positive development, it is not an end, but a beginning. We urge both nations to build upon this momentum by engaging in sustained and meaningful dialogue aimed at addressing the underlying issues that have fueled decades of conflict. The youth of South Asia deserve a future rooted in peace, cooperation, and mutual respect—not in cycles of violence and mistrust.
