November 30, 2012

The Bureau of the International Federation of Liberal Youth (IFLRY) has the pleasure to invite you to the 35th IFLRY General Assembly (GA), to be held in Chisinau, Moldova, from Friday 30th November to Saturday 1st of December, 2012. A Conference on Political Inclusion will be held on the 30th of November. With the support of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe, IFLRY will also be running a five-day Seminar on Gender Equality prior to the GA in Chisinau (25th November-29th November, with arrival foreseen on the 24th). IFLRY Member Liberal Youth of Moldova will co-organise the GA and the Conference as well as the preceding Seminar. Liberal parties D66 and VVD from the Netherlands, as well as the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom from Germany, are partners in the organisation of these events.

The GA is an important yearly gathering of IFLRY Member Organizations where the main political and organizational priorities of the Federation are decided. A variety of panel discussions will allow for interaction between young liberals from around the world and bring forward new ideas and actions to advance the cause of freedom in 2013 and beyond. The Conference on Political Inclusion will include speakers and debates on how politics and liberal parties in particular can be attractive to all segments of society. The Seminar under the title “Gender Equality: From Myth to Reality?” will comprehensively explore a topic that is both very relevant to young people as well as to liberal ideology. The main objective of the seminar will be to educate the participants about the topic, understand different sides of the Gender Equality debate and to set up a network of young liberal women and men that wish to cooperate on the topic of gender equality.

The registration for the events will be possible through an online form, to be found here. Additional information regarding the seminar, deadlines for resolutions, membership applications or agenda items can be found in the IFLRY Document Centre, GA and Conference information here and Seminar information here. Please check the Document Centre from time to time for updates.
