🚨 GENERAL ASSEMBLY SUSPENDED 🚨
Amidst the recent developments of the continuous spread of the coronavirus all over the globe and considering the public health threats of COVID-19, the IFLRY Bureau has decided to suspend the upcoming General Assembly in Kyiv—and postpone the event until further notice.
We are therefore aligning with the recommendations of other international organizations and comply with the measures taken by the Ukrainian authorities on the ground. We are also in close contact with all our partners and they have supported us in this decision. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this may have caused.
If you wish to raise any concerns or have any questions, please send an E-Mail to our Secretary General Sven (firstname.lastname@example.org).
IFLRY General Assembly & Conference

Kyiv, Ukraine 2020
NEW: You can find the GA and Conference Program here
IFLRY will hold its 47th General Assembly in Kyiv from 24th to the 26th of April 2020. The General Assembly will gather member organisations from all over the world. The General Assembly is the highest decision-making body of IFLRY and will among other things deal with:
- Bureau and Auditors election
- Statutory changes
- Membership Applications
The event will be co-hosted by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and VVD International.
Together with our partners we will also organize a one-day conference on “The Pillars of the Open Society: Dialogue, Civil Society & Media”.
Registration for the General Assembly + Conference can be found here.
Make sure to register by the 4th of March! Contact your international officer to learn about the possibilities you have for attending the event on behalf of your member organisation. We will accept applications on a rolling basis every week, so the sooner you register, the sooner you can go ahead and book tickets.
Each MO is guaranteed as many spots as they have votes in the General Assembly. Should an MO wish to send more delegates, please let us know via email@example.com as soon as possible, so that we are aware and can jointly find a solution. In this case, we will confirm the delegates by the deadline of March 4th. Please do not book any travel until your participation has been confirmed.
Participation fee and accommodation
The participation fee is 135 Euros. This will cover accommodation for the period between 24th – 26th of April (Two nights), and meals according to the schedule which will be published at a later stage.
If you live in Kyiv or for other reasons do not need accommodation, the participation fee is 80 euros. *
OBS: You have to secure your own accommodation and food if you are planning to stay extra days in Kyiv.
Unfortunately, IFLRY is not able to cover any visa costs. Remember to check if you need a visa to enter Ukraine through the websites of Ukrainian Embassies worldwide. Please contact the IFLRY Office (firstname.lastname@example.org) in case you need a support letter.
There will be no travel reimbursement available for the IFLRY General Assembly and Conference. However, the IFLRY Office is able to provide you with a cover/support letter, should you wish to privately fund-raise your travel.
